Residential Collection Service

Whitehorse Blue Bin Recycling offers curbside recycling collection to all urban neighbourhoods in Whitehorse, Yukon.

The service includes:

Biweekly curbside collection of all household recycling
Free 14-gallon blue bin upon sign-up
4 large clear bags (restocked after each collection) for Container Stream materials
Yellow bag for Paper Stream materials. A second or third can be provided if needed.

The collection begins at 7:00 am, so please have your material on the curb by then to ensure collection.

No limit on the amount a household can put out on the curb.

All this for only $25 a month, plus GST.

Country Residential Collection Service

Whitehorse Blue Bin Recycling offers recycling collection to all country residential neighbourhoods in Whitehorse, Yukon City limits.

The service includes:

a monthly collection of all household recycling collected on the second Monday of every month.
Free 14-gallon blue bin upon sign-up
8 large clear bags (restocked after each collection) for Container Stream materials
Yellow bag for Paper Stream materials. A second or third can be provided if needed.

The collection begins at 7:00 am, so please have your material at the end of your driveway to ensure collection.

No limit on the amount a household can put out on the curb.

All this for only $25 a month, plus GST.

Payment Plans

Monthly

Our Monthly Payment plan is managed through Chargify, an online subsciption management software. You will be charged each month on the date you joined the service.

Requires a Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, or MasterCard Debit.

Six Months & Annual prepayment plans

We accept prepayment in six month or annual terms. These payments can be made via cheque or etransfer, as well as with a credit card. To get signed up on a prepayment plan, please contact our Customer Service.

Manage your Subscription

Manage your Blue Bin Recycling subscription with Billing Portal by Chargify. Click the button below to be sent to our Billing Portal. After logging in, you can update your payment information, see your statement history, or cancel your subscription.

Cancellation procedure

To cancel your service, please contact our Customer Service to notify us of your wish to cancel or login to the Billing Portal. Collections will continue until the end of the current payment period. Your email address will be taken off the reminders mailing list and street address taken off the collection list after your last collection.

Refund Policy

Full or partial refunds will not be given. Rather, collections will continue until the end of the payment period.

Privacy Policy

Whitehorse Blue Bin Recycling collects, stores and uses personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. All personal information is stored on secure servers. Whitehorse Blue Bin Recycling will not release personal information to any third-party organization.

Three Sorting Streams

All material must be properly sorting into our three streams: Paper Stream, BCR Glass Stream, and Container Stream. If you are unsure which stream a material should be sorted into, please contact our Customer Service.

The lists below are not exhaustive and are subject to change.

Not Accepted Materials

Please do not include any of the following materials. It may result in collection being refused. Please check out the City's Waste Sorting App to find the appropriate place to dispose of the materials.

any soiled or dirty material
paper towel or facial tissues
Organics

Non-refundable glass
Starbucks/Tim Hortons coffee cups
Styrofoam or packing foam

Manufactured Goods
E-waste
Household Hazardous Waste

Declined Collections

Collection will be declned if the material on the curb does not comply with these requirements.

Instead, collectors will fill out a Declined Collection notices and staple it to the offending bag. They will take all material that does comply.
